Biography
Cyrus was born and raised in the small coal mining village of Minto, NB, Canada. His family: mother Carolyn, father Joey, Sister Stacey, and Grandmother Vivian (Nan) have always been a very important part of Cyrus' life. Cyrus has always been loved for his big heart, quick wit, great sense of humor, family values and charismatic personality. He was unique right from start. Cyrus is the son of the late country music icon Joey Knight (who passed away in May 2011). Knight toured professionally in the early 80's across Canada and the United States. Cyrus has found true love with his soul mate and guardian angel Catherine Henry Cyrus (soon to be) and couldn't be more proud of his beautiful daughter Chloe Madison Cyrus. He is finally ready to give the world what he was born to give them— “EVERYTHING I GOT.”
Cyrus fostered his love for magic and hypnosis at a very young age. Cyrus thoroughly enjoyed entertaining everyone at parties with his magic tricks. He'd have people sticking to walls and each other, forgetting names and numbers. To this day, Cyrus remains a popular guest at each party he attends. He is number 1 on the invite list.
Cyrus' father, Joey Knight, had always taken him to see the magicians and hypnotists as they came into town. As Cyrus watched the entertainers on stage, a fire ignited inside him as he realized that he could light up the stage in the same way. Cyrus was born with the natural gift to entertain.
Like a true Canadian boy, Cyrus has always had a love for hockey combined with talent and skill. During his hockey career, Cyrus played on a triple A hockey team and received many awards including MOST VALUABLE PLAYER and HIGHEST POINTS. His success led to an invitation to try out for a Junior A hockey team in Ontario. His hard work and dedication earned him a position on the team.
One evening, his team had a private party and a hypnotist provided the entertainment. As he watched the show, Cyrus knew that it was something he had to do.
While playing hockey in Ontario, he enrolled in grade 13 and spent most of his time playing hockey and learning all about hypnosis at the school library.
Cyrus returned home to NB to finish up his hockey career and began studying hypnosis on the side. He kept it a secret from everyone because he didn't want people to think he was crazy. After all, he recognized that a stage hypnotist was not a traditional career choice.
Conforming to the norm, he decided to enroll in business and marketing in college. However, after trying many unfulfilling jobs (even having his own fitness business), he decided to follow his heart and accomplish his dream of becoming a certified hypnotist. He completed his program through the International Hypnosis Association. After completing many hours of required study, Cyrus then became a member of the largest hypnosis groups in the world The National Guild of Hypnotists.
Cyrus began touring at the major theatres in Atlantic Canada and very quickly had one of the hottest tickets in town. Audiences were completely blown away and people came from everywhere to see his gift, packing the theatres more and more each and every year.
Major corporate companies began hiring him for headline entertainment for their company events.
Cyrus enjoys a multi-faceted career. In addition to his stage shows, he also operates a clinical hypnotherapy office, Master Mind Hypnotherapy, which enables him to offer support to clients in a one on one environment. Cyrus is able to help his clients reach their true potential while enhancing and improving their lives. The success and popularity of his shows have increased his clientele as people travel from far to see him privately. Cyrus enjoys both aspects of his career. While he enjoys performing in front of large audiences, he also finds working one on one with clients very rewarding.
When Cyrus is not on tour he works full time at his clinic. He is a full time professional hypnotist.
On any down time (which is very limited these days), he still enjoys playing hockey and softball but his real dedication belongs to his family. He values the time he spends with them.
Cyrus is now living his dream and is only going to get bigger and better.
